Indeed, basses can't have switches, what a preposterous notion to include one.
In his defense, the instrument is classified as a guitar/bass hybrid. I'm no chicken, although the spacing seems pretty narrow.
I think a switch isn't a bad idea, but the way it's wired is a bit different. I'm not saying it sucks, but the pickup selection doesn't quite make sense to me as a bassist. Give me a blend and a switch to select series/parallel/split or perhaps parallel and either coil.
I wouldn't object to trying one out, but I highly doubt one of these will make it to most normal shops.
Sure, it's a hybrid, and definatly a niche instrument, wouldn't deny that, but come on, to dismiss it's low end possiblitys because "I can play it like a guitar, and it has a switch"
Both these situations can also be attributed to my Fender(and quite a few of my other basses), I guess that ain't a bass either?
Next thing you know, some weirdos will start using them "fx" box things with their basses......, or saints preserve us, them twangy guitar string thingys, roundwounds, was it?
I'm having hard time locating this one to try out. For those of who have tried one, did you find it in GC or local boutique??
