New GK Plex Preamp

Ok, tried two passive Harley Benton and the hum/buz is here.

I can't speak for MattF007, but in my case, the hum/buzz was there even with no cable connected to the input.

With no cable in the input, mine is still silent

It went away whenever I grounded the Plex. For example, by connecting the Amp out or the DI out to a piece of equipment, which resulted in the ground shield of the TS or XLR connector to be connected to ground. Or, even better, by touching the Plex and the protective earth contact on the mains outlet at the same time with my hands (make sure you know what you're doing -- only touch contacts that are exposed by themselves, like on many central European outlet types, only those are meant to be touched without bodily harm).

Yes.
With one bass I've touched the chassis of the plex and the hum is gone, but with another the hum is just lower. It goes away when I touch one of the screws on the bottom (under "overdrive" and "compressor/tuner"). If i tap one of the screws, kt does a clicky noise.

Quick question, I have the plex for about 2 years now, and my footswitches have stopped working properly.
The comp/tuner footswitch it's next to unusable working lets say every 30 pushes and the drive footswitch worked properly till last week when it started to become really annoying, having to click it 3-4 times to work.
Has anybody encountered this and how can I fix it since I dont have the warranty. Will a tech be able to solve it if it's a contact problem or due to the pedal's nature repairs like this are not possbile from non GK authorized dealers/ techs.
Cheers

Hi there,
I would contact GK directly. Even though it's out of warranty they usually have great customer service. @rag
Best wishes

This is what I plan on using my Plex for...

It's a preamp with compression, EQ, and overdrive, and a loop if I want it; I take that signal and send it to the Rolls, which will have my bass signal, a monitor send (line input), and a Mic input for ambient sound, all of which will be sent to ME via my fancy Westone IEMs. XLR to the house, Inst Out (from the Rolls) to an amp if necessary but hopefully not.

All of this so I can ALWAYS hear myself, control how much of what I hear, and protect my hearing in the process. I sit when I play, so I can keep this on my left side, out of my elbow's way.

The "ambient sound" thing is so I can hear a little bit of what's going on in the open air around me ("Hey, we're changing the set list" or "Can you guys play 'Freebird'?"). There's gotta be a good cheap mic that will suit this purpose, like an SM57 knockoff...
