New GK Plex Preamp

This may be a naive question but is the compressor analog or digital?
Similarly is the preamp/EQ analog or digital?
Generally (except from the USB DAW feature) is the signal converted from analog to digital then back to analog at some point in the signal path ?

When I connected to the pa system through the di out, by varying the master, will I have gain volume out?

The DI has two positions:
PRE places it right after the Trim control so nothing but the the Trim will effect it.
POST places it just before the Master so everything but the Master effects it.

The signal goes through a low noise analog input stage then a very low noise 48kHz A to D converter. Everything after that until the Master is done with a 32 bit DSP. So the EQ, Compression and Overdrive are digital.

I'm looking forward to trying one of these out. Throwing this out for grins - since the comp & OD are digital, are you leaving room for soft 'mods' in the future?

As for 'flavor' of distortion/OD, I don't have much input here. I use a MXR DI+ for the few songs where I need it. I like the fact that I can blend the clean signal to keep the fullness of the tone, and the separate volume helps me keep it in check. I haven't compared it to other OD pedals as it's not an effect I use a lot, and it sounds good enough for my needs.

One thing I'd like to have would be the sound of my Mesa 400 just edging into power tube saturation. I can't run it at that level because it's just too dang loud! Sounds awesome, but my drummer's drums start falling over and little kids start crying, it's bad. :bassist::bassist::bassist: I watched one of the demo videos another user did and IIRC there are five settings for OD and they sounded good (need to go back and listen with good headphones though) so maybe that need is covered.

HOWEVER, perhaps you could patch in a Chorus or even a Flanger that are pre-set like on the RCB and other models (or with five different settings) and provide the ability to overwrite the Compressor or OD controls with them. Sky's the limit there if that's the case. I'm not expecting a copy of a "XYZ vintage Japanese brand pedal" or anything like that - one size fits most seems more of the goal. Only qualifier there is that it sounds good - and you always deliver on that end.

On a side note, I'm not big into effects. This pedal appeals to me for the main features I need (EQ, OD, Tuner and DI) in a compact, portable package. Having those other programmable options is icing on the cake. Like the compressor - don't use one now, but in the worship context I play in I could add that in the chain so some slapping won't kill the combo I use and make everyone jump when it comes out of the FOH system. My gears are turning...

Thanks for the response!

Perhaps some more voicing options? Or expand on the existing.
800rb with mid contour engaged, disengaged, high boost engaged etc.
700rb and/or 1001rb voicing.
Boost and "hitting the rails" overdrive added. That way the current knob labels would still be relevant.
Look at me! I'm starting a wish list and I don't even own a Plex yet! ;)
