New guy from Michigan

Greetings, all. I'm from Michigan's west coast, in a little hamlet nestled along the shores of Lake Michigan. My first exposure to guitar was with an inexpensive acoustic that I was gifted in high school, which I dinked around with for a few years before landing a job helping out at a guitar store, whereupon I assembled my first electric. I played around on electric for a few more years before buying a bass, and falling head over heels for it! I typically play on the Rocksmith 2014 game, either on PC or on PS3, and I've found that I have quite a knack for the low end...must be all that training I had in 6th grade playing tuba

Anyway, my bass idols are Matt Freeman of Rancid, Jason Newsted (formerly) of Metallica, and a couple odd local players.

I look forward to learning from you, and hopefully teaching a few things as well

You're not kidding! I mentioned that I use the Rocksmith software, and I've gotten 100% accuracy on songs the first time I played them, just because they're familiar and I can "feel" where the bassline needs to go, in those 3-chord country, folk, or rock songs. Now, the flipside is that, especially with the more complex pop songs, I get lost quite easily, especiallier when they get into artsy bass solos, and especialliest with erratic or constantly changing time signatures (I'm looking at you, Smashing Pumpkins ).
