Excellent. I bought some on a whim and have stored for use later.Oh, and Luminlays are AWESOME!
How long does it last compared to the newer warwicks? Looks good
They work well and are the minimum for me now, I’m dying to do LEDs… maybe for the Geköpft buildExcellent. I bought some on a whim and have stored for use later.
Bass looks pretty good too.
Isn’t that what they’re using? How long does it last compared to the newer warwicks? Looks good
I'd like to do it fibre optic so the LED is in the cavity. I saw a build like this once, it might have been here or maybe TDPRI.They work well and are the minimum for me now, I’m dying to do LEDs
I have a unique prototype that I’m playing with that is similar to using LED for lighting up the plastic fiber optic. The approach that I’m using is quite a bit different but it does keep the LEDs out of the neck cavity so it could be serviceable, and would allow me to apply animation to the colors as well. Stay tuned it’s something that no one‘s done before, I’ll let ya know if it works.I'd like to do it fibre optic so the LED is in the cavity. Oh I don't know, I have a little UV light that will get them real bright, I wish they would stay that way. Some stage lights seem to capture them well thoughIsn’t that what they’re using?
It seems like the brighter the LED that’s used to charge them the longer they last (20min?)
Super happy with it now and completely done with this build!!!!Directly from the Mfg, it is all special order 12wksLooking good! The, is it Spectraply, neck kinda makes you carve it symmetrically. Did you mention where you got a blank that big? Apologies if you already did. Lots of SBO threads. I’ve lost track of some of the details.
I've done a few and have 2 more in progress. One thing to consider is blocking the light leak in the neck pocket where the LED is shining from the body to the fibers in the neck. I really like the concept of a nearly bulletproof neck once everything is epoxied in place.I'd like to do it fibre optic so the LED is in the cavity. I was going to shroud the LED/fibre interface with glue lined heatshrink. No way I want it visible to the outside world, except where I want it to be. I have all the gear to do a proof of concept but it's a bit far down the list, especially as the weather here looks like my garage may be a (mild) stream in the next couple of hours. One thing to consider is blocking the light leak in the neck pocket where the LED is shining from the body to the fibers in the neck.
That's a beautiful set of instruments! But I've gotta know -- where are you getting all those Steinberger bridges?Well, when I started this thread, I said it was gonna be a long one and the plan was to start out with three initial builds and in5 short months those are all now complete with this trio.
