New Headless Dingwall!

Really like to see the Kubicki drop-D lever in the future too, four string of course.
I made my own version requiring a sliding off-on capo that simplifies Phil's drop-D capo which requires 'lift & shift', a two-part operation. But I imagine an ultimate version being electronic/automatic. They've figured it out for bicycle derailleurs so the micro technology is there.

The new headless seems to have an ABZ body I’d love to see it in the Z3 and the D rock that would be pretty bad ass. I’m sure we will. It’s just a matter of time.

The bottom horn is shaped a bit different than the Afterburners, but it definately looks more Afterburner than anything else in their lineup. When I heard that they were working on a headless design, I was expecting the body to be downsized somewhat. But the Afterburner is a nice shape, so if it works, it works.

I like the clean look of the headstock. The Ibanez EHB's still have the jagged string cuts exposed on the front of the headstock, so this design looks very clean and streamlined in comparison.

I really want a headless D-Roc.

I think the D-Roc headstock looks great and completes the overall look.

I would love to be a fly on the wall of r&d for all headless basses headstock solving.
Why almost noone makes a solution that goes trough neck is really intriguing. The 90° bend seems quite important too, which Ibanez seems to have missed somehow.

Cant wait to hear how efigy headstock works and if the strings would unwind as much as on EHB.

PS: EHB has a clean headstock if you cut your strings right. Check my photo on the page 2.

Effigy options below. I wonder if pickup type is another customer option or if not, which pickups are used? Body wood?
  • Passive, Darkglass, Glockenklang or Rupert Neve preamps available
  • Toggles Optional
  • Maple Neck w/ Wenge Fingerboard
  • Available in Solid Finishes
