Hi All,

Jim here. I have been playing guitar/bass for a long time, but have been inactive for about 20 years. I'm just starting to pick it up again and hopefully will start joining in some sessions with a few friends.

My bass set up is a Yamaha BB2000 with a Peavy TNT100. They are 20+ years old but still in good shape.

As far as my skill level goes, I have good relative pitch and can play very well by ear. I never learned the bass clef or tab, but that's on the list. Being primarily a guitar player, I just used the treble clef but again, never learned tab. It wasn't used much when I learned to play. One of the goals I have is to learn slap bass. It isn't exactly my style, but I love the sound.

I never got the sound I was looking for from the BB so I'll be searching the forums for pointers there.

Anyway, this seems to be a good find. Can't wait to get started again.

Welcome to Talkbass! Have fun here. remember --as on all forums--you have some really wise heads here and some not-so-wise idiots. Sometimes they make you need a thick skin. But otherwise there is an amazing amount of detailed knowledge among TB members.
Cheers---MEKer
