The 2×6 is Hevos newest combo. Its name refers to the two 6" loudspeakers that are used in this very small bass combo of (hxwxd) 44x23x32 cm and 13.7 kgs. In spite of the use of these tiny loudspeakers the combo offers an astonishing bass reproduction. Even the low B string is not an obstacle for these small speakers.

The combo is powered by the new Hevos 400C combo amplifier, with a continuous output of 400 Watts. The amp has 2 separate inputs, a mute out to tune the bass inaudible, a phase switch for double bass with 2 pick ups, a -6 dB switch and a 4-band active tone control with a range of +/- 12 dB. The 400C is provided with all kinds of protection devices, such as a switch-on delay, clip indication, protection against short circuit of the loudspeaker output. At the backside of the amp there is an output for a headphone, a mute out and a symmetrical line out with pre/post switch. An extra Speakon loudspeaker output completes the 400C.

The power amp of the 400C is a class-D type with UcD technics and has a switched power supply. The amplifier delivers its maximum power of 400 Watts at 4 Ohms, so connecting an extra loudspeaker cabinet is possible. A 2×6 loudspeaker cabinet is available, with the same dimensions as the combo (9kgs), and of course stackable. Within a few weeks both German bass magazines BassQuarterly and Gitarre&Bass will publish reviews of the 2x6 combo and cabinet.

Both the cabinets and the amplifier are made in the Netherlands.

Funny, that for us Americans, the Euro price translates to almost $1776. For a 2x6 combo? Give me freakin' break.

    RIP. OFF.

  6. 1776 is the wrong kind of free when talking about the price of an amp. :D

Funny, it's usually the other way round. A $99 effects pedal usually translates to £99, for example.

Have you compared it to contending combos?
I think it's worth the price when you do.
