New Ibanez (headless, multiscale)

Got a text from my Sweetwater rep, early June as of now. Oye
Ugh. I haven’t heard from mine yet, he thought there was a small shipment that squeaked out before the shutdowns and that mine was allocated to that - but also that it wasn’t positive. He’s never blown smoke up my skirt in all of these years, so I think he wasn’t lying.

I hope your instrument arrives soon!

Just scored this Brice HBX2-405 blah blah headless fanned fret 5 stringer. Going to review it and compare it to the EHB1005MS :). It just shipped, so it'll hopefully be here next week. Saw it on Reverb this morning and snatched it up!

I seriously considered one of those. Looking forward to your review!

I've seen pics of other angle of the bass. The lower bout corner seems very boxy. My experiences with older build BTBs with beveled elbow corner but slightly boxy, it could be quite uncomfortable for leaning on elbow there.

At one point I was seriously about to pull the trigger on a short scale, non-fan-fret version of that Brice bass, but the more I looked at the photos the more it bugged me. They didn't even bother making different bodies for the different versions of that bass (short scale vs long scale with normal frets), and the short scale normal frets version, due to reusing the same body, had a huge useless space below the bridge that was just one giant cavity where the tuners for the normal scale version were supposed to be. It was such lazy design/manufacturing that I was just too turned off. The fan-fret version is much better because the body was especially designed for it.

Take a look at the short scale body. See that giant cavity below the tuners? *shudders." I still can't believe they were so lazy and cheap that they didn't carve a new body for the short scale version.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've seen pics of their shorter scale with that giant cavity you mentioned.

How about the extra width for a fifth string bridge piece just hanging out like a missing tooth on the 4 string fanned fret version?:

Maybe it’s space for allowing your hand to turn the G string tuner but it looks funky.

Hi to all!

I ordered one from Thomann on early February but due to covid emergency they told me that the next availability is on august so I deleted order and took an svt4pro head. Anyway does some of you have one of these bass? I'm interested in 1505ms series... My first choice was the TSF but the PLF is very nice too... Do you have some real pics of one of them? Opinion about one of the two? I'm planning to make another order this summer so if you have direct experience please share. Thanks

First is the EHB then the Cirrus.
I recorded them to the same beat on different tracks in reaper.
Both basses have both pickups engaged and the eq is set flat.
Were they both using the same kind of strings and in new condition? I thought the second half was the EHB because it had more metallic zing to the strings, and I assumed it's because the bass is new and the strings fresh.

I changed the strings on the EHB yesterday to daddario nickel 40-130. The Cirrus has like a month old daddario nickel strings, but I haven't played it much.
