New Jackson basses

Why can't they make a bass that is more similar to Ellefson's signature bass, but doesn't have an MSRP of almost $4000.

The X series stuff (CB-X or CB-XV) is close, but I'd prefer ebony to rosewood and neck through to bolt on and US made. But seriously, $600 to $4000 is a pretty big price jump for those upgrades w/ better electronics and his signature on it. Where is the $1000-$1500? I'd buy that...

I understand his is a custom shop model hence the price tag, but why no USA Pro model with none of the Rust In Peace stuff.

ya like you said, don't hold your breath. It took 10 years for them to come up with another standard 5string and some new prices that are actually affordable for the masses....

Nah Im not even talking about the CBX basses or the JS series, I know the JS series are pretty available, Im talking about those new basses he showcased at NAMM, new designs, new headstock, p-pickup, etc they look sweet and I want one so badly.

big derail = no big deal when it's about a Jackson
anything like those at a NAMM show won't be available for a bit in a production model.

Kelly is worn out, concerts been around for 30 years.. kellybird? well if Gibson can make a FirebiedX all weird looking I suppose having one of those priced around the JS series would be cool. I got a lot of pictures of weird shaped Jacksons.

How much of a fan base would they instantly accumulate if the were to make a straight Tbird again?

I don't know what's happening in here. Aren't the import Ellefson's brand spankin' new? Weren't they mentioned in the 1st post of this thread and my first post in this thread? Isn't this thread about new Jackson basses? The thread title says so...

it is about new jackson basses, Im talking about NEW NEW NEWWW jackson basses, these new funky desgned ones with the p-pickup. Im so pissed that they wont be available to buy for quite some time, especially where Im from too.

remember one thing conzo, your idea of "wow this is cool", may not reflect the same views as the masses hence a company cannot mass produce something the only a handful of people will buy.

I would love Jackson or any company to make something so bizarre, it's almost freaky looking for an affordable price ( not 3grand ), but to make 10,000 of them would be a losing situation.

Yeah I know all that stuff but I think these new basses look very appealing to a wider group of people than just the metalheads. Its good for the metalheads, yes, but its also good for more than that.

in a way it reminds me of Ellefsons Modulus bass from the 90s. like a cooler version (because its Jackson, has a p-pickup, etc.)

Does anyone know when Ellefson's X-Series bass will be for sale? I've seen models on Gear Hounds, but I've never bought anything from there, so I don't know how reliable they are. I almost always buy my gear from Musician's Friend, but I don't know if those specific models will be for sale through there.

I tried a JS-2 the other day.

It was a good bass for $300 or however much it was.

I would have taken it over a Squier.

the X series are a higher quality neck, and some different pickups/pre.

The X series is more on the higher quality like the CMG used to be, and is basically it's replacement.

I have heard that the new basses have a different neck. The js3 is very thin, but is more of a P-Bass width where as the CMGs were Jazzish iirc.

no. the CMG/X is 1/4sawn the JS is not which would lead to more TR adjustments than the other for those who are picky about that sort of thing...

same nut width, same radius specs.
