Hmmm... That JamMan Solo looks like a serious contender to the RC-2.. Big time..

But I can't seem to figure out, does it come with drum loops?
Or do you have to load them into the unit manually?

Looks like you can download them via USB and/or have them on a SDHC card.

It is 1st generation new hardware and software so the usual caveats apply.

Hmm. Doesn't seem to have any built-in drum/percussion like the RC-2. Not that the RC had the best tracks. BUT..better than nothing. There's probably a way to do it. But, nothing apparent so far.

And that $199 is list for the Solo. So, will go much below that on the street. Interested to see the specifics.

Imagine Boss will have the RC-3 shortly..

WOW...I almost pulled the trigger on the Jamman I.

The Jamman Stereo has fade out....big plus, plus keeps all the good XLR and expandable memory.

It looks like they made some good improvements....but it's bigger now...so it'll take up more space in my suitcase when I travel with it! :-( small bummer....

but good improvements

Honestly, I had the RC-2 for a while and I hated the built in drums. There was no way to turn it off! I had the original Lexicon Jamman upgraded to 32 seconds of looping power and no drum tracks! I can't tell you having to be my own percussion section did for my sense of time. It forced me to keep my loops "honest". In the long run it made me a better musician.

The click output for sending to a drummer's monitor/headphones is a great addition too. Indulging in a spot of looping in the middle of a song has always been a struggle is the drummer is trying to keep in time with a loop without proper monitoring.

Better hit that instruction book bro. You certainly can turn them off.

Personally, love the drums. Great for practice or for creating/writing given it's ability to multitrack.. More fun than a metronome as well. It is what it is. No more and no less! YMMV!!

Yep, I loved them on my RC-50! And my guitarist had no problem turning them off on his RC-2. The beats and looping functionality were great for practicing and had me writing my first cheesy songs in no time. Great units, and the jammen look pretty cool too, but I'd go with that new Looperlative if anything due to the MIDI syncability.
