Well when asked if I am a guitar player, I say yes. In 1968, I learned the bass line to Sunshine of Your Love. It was an old acoustic guitar that had 4 strings on it. The bass 4.
Soon after, I got 2 more strings and became a "guitar" player. Hm. I thought they were both guitars. Same notes on the fretboard...My life as a "guitar" player began as me being a hybrid.
I wanted my parents or um "Santa" to bring me a bass guitar...I got a record player.
So I grew up on mostly blues and bluesy rock, like Cream and such.
I drifted to being a 6 string player as time went on and along the way actually sat in playing bass at the Yellow Rose Club in Corpus Christi. 1970 or so. It was Roy Head, Frank Head, Tommy Roots on steel, and a couple other fellows.
On this recording I made, I play Bass, Lead, Rhythm, and Vocals.

I play drums and some keys and long ago a little sax.

Welcome, Mr. Yeats from "a booth in the midwest" (name that tune). Tons of great threads here on all things bass, especially gear. Speaking of which, that's the lowest action on a bass I've ever seen, and the lightest bridge, too. It's like it's not even there!

Easy one-"Diamonds and Rust". Probably my favorite Joan Baez song and album. A friend always says about "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down". Such a great song even Baez couldn't ruin it.
