'New' Kustom 2x15" tug n roll?

And just after I posted those hidden gem photos of my Kustom Tug and Roll skirt days, I received this message in my facebook inbox: You best be puttin on yer favourite skirt and comin out to 80's nite

Apparently, it made an impression on people that lasts for over 20 years... :p

The line of Kustom amps that popped up in the early 2000s were made in Chanute by Bud Ross- the designer of the original Kustom amps. They were FET circuits with a 10 band EQ. I have had a broken one in my basement for ages, but it sounded really good when it first came out and I still use the green Naugahyde 2x15 cabinet for big gigs. It cost $1,000 new. They only managed about 18 months as Kustom before Peavey sued them for trademark infringement and they changed to Kasino. They may have moved manufacturing overseas at some point, but mine was made in Kansas.

The owner tells me that this cab came with a 'new' tuck n roll tube amp. Does that tell you something?
Is it even from even newer reissue batch?

When did the present day Kustom company come into play? That would also rule out some years since they never made the tuck n roll look.

There's been some misinformation posted. The Kasino amps date back to the early 70's but the company was shortlived.

The company Budd Ross formed in the '90's was Krossroads. They were shortlived as well.

The "Kustom" company of today is owned by Hanser Holdings, not Ross, since the mid 80's. Kustom Amplification - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia as well as the official Kustom site Invalid Link Removed which shows Hanser Holdings on the bottom of the page.

According to Broadway Music their current amps are made in China but designed in USA. Invalid Link Removed

The wikipedia link also says that the Hanser Co. ownes "Kustom" since 1999 and since late 1980's. I read that story before but it is of course wikipedia. Would be nice to have some second source that confirms the Kustom reissue story. Dating it precisely and what they made.

I have a old Kasino 2x15" 8 ohm cab. With the plain grillcloth, not striped. Way to heavy to lift.
Two CTS 15 inch 16 ohm speakers in it.

That's right, Krossroads. Other than that, I can tell you first hand that I bought this speaker cab and matching head from Bud Ross through Wurlitzer music in Boston in 1996. It's labeled "Klassic", but I know they had to change the name not long after I got this and, at the time, it was the only green one they ever made.Later, I saw green Krossroads ones in stores. I dragged this on tour buses and into vans, it's been all across the country and has several girlfriend on the Canadian side of the Niagra Falls border.

In fact, looking at the stains on the speaker grill brings back the pungent odors and sounds of an unfortunate bottling incident in Hamilton, Ontario. Some of the more musically educated members of the audience made very subtle musical suggestions by throwing beer at the stage, and we ended up spending the night sleeping cardboard boxes in an old funeral home. This dude made a recreational smoking device out of a humidifier and we listened to the Bob& Doug MacKenzie album all night.

Ok news from Kustom themselves! It's official.
They did reissue Tuck N Roll all tube guitar amps 100W and 50W, 400W hybrid bass amp, and cabs from 1999 to 2001. So for about 3 years.
TRT100, TRT50, TRB400H, 2x12, 4x12, and 2x15.

List prices in 2000:
$999.95, 899.95, 899.95, 399.95, 599.95, 749.95

Are the Kustom cabs particle board or not? Seems I was looking at some K-cabs couple yrs ago and the info was that they were. Particle board is a definite NO-GO for me either way.

Anyone have the 100% true poop on this?

I am breeding a special strain of Naugas here in Georgia. They are Palmino and White and unfortunately require traditional harvesting and skinning methods.
The heard is stable at 69 head.

It seems the females object to being bred...........usually.

I am weaving the manes for matching grillcloth, using the hooves for amp feet and eating the rest.

We don't waste anything down here.
