Fingerboard is nice and even without any drips or sags and is ready for waxing.
Drilling out grounding and pickup wires.
Side jack drilling.
Strap pins.
Epoxying in magnets for the cavity cover.
Epoxying in some elbow reinforcements to further strengthen the inside of the control area.

Buffing out the fingerboard. This birdseye looks really nice with the steel wool and wax treatment.

My custom inlay supplier sent out an "L" instead of the "W" logo I ordered - kind of a cool mistake/coincidence! 
So finishing the headstock will need to wait a couple days, but at least I can get a sneak preview.

The pistachio build is sitting in my den staring at me as I type this! I still need to carve the fingerboard and prep for fretting, then get it ready for assembly. I had to move it to the back burner as the walnut build started to pick up steam, and a few outdoor summer-only projects have been taking up a lot of my time. Refinishing the deck is WAY less fun. Ugh!
I hear ya brotha! The only shop time I get these days is for tap handles! Oh how I long for building guitars again. As you know, I have some pistachio earmarked for a few fingerboards...and not even for the 4 and the 8-octave neck through blanks sitting sadly on the bench!
Frustratingly, work on this bass has stopped for the past few weeks, as I became very sick at the beginning of the month and am only now beginning to get back to normal. Hoping to wrap this thing up in the next week or two.
After a few weeks out of commission due to illness, I'm finally back to work on the bass.
With hardware installed, I was able to get the preamp and electronics wired into the body, and installed a set of Fodera medium-light nickels so I could get the setup dialed in. I've only been able to upload a handful of shots, but will get more progress pics shortly...
Electronics rough-in. This bass is getting the Aguilar OBP-2 with an active/passive switch and independent parallel/series switches for the pickups.
Just about done. Still need to install a battery clip, but I'll do this last.
All the time and layout work on the headstock paid off for a nice parallel string pull.
After lots of hand rubbing and buffing to a nice warm "wet look," the body has really come alive. Unfortunately the birdseye in the fingerboard is washed out from the fluorescents in the shop, but the dark contrasts look fantastic with the walnut.
