Personally, I liked the Doobie Brothers much more before Michael McDonald and they were very successful before him and afterward.

Robert Trujillo really opened up Suicidal Tendencies' musical styles. Not so much with Metallica, and while I don't listen to Metallica, it would be downright awful if they injected funk into their music.

I doubt many listen to Japanese band Maximum the Hormone, but after the lineup change to include guitarist (and drummer's brother) Maximum the Ryo-kun and bassist Ue changed their sound immensely for the better.

I agree with Mike Patton, but unfortunately it was also the downfall of Faith No More as he was destined to do very un-Faith No More-like music. Drummer Mike Bordin eventually played alongside Robert Trujillo in Ozzy Osbourne's band. And recently guitarist Jim Martin played with Trujillo in Infectious Grooves for the Orion Festival.

I don't listen to Blink-182, but no doubt Travis Barker stepped up their game. Fortunately, Barker's previous band The Aquabats eventually found success in their own way.

And lastly, Gwen Stefani taking lead vocals for No Doubt.

For some reason, McDonald and Nicks subscribe sorta voice I can only take in small doses.

Agree...although as it was happening, I was fully down with Taking It The Streets.
