I was on my facebook and mesa posted a picture of some artist's new cabinet grill and i seen this post:
"in the brand new Mesa Price list is the "Bass Strategy". 12 x 6L6 power tubes and 3 x 12AX7 Preamps. Producing a modest 300 watts! I think Mesa answered your wish. Tons of features listed. Avaialble later in 2012." so i did some digging and came up with this
Mesa/Boogie Bass Strategy Multi-Watt Bass Amplifier Tube Head and more Bass Tube Amplifier Heads At Cascio Interstate Music

If this is true i need to get one :D :hyper:

This description sounds awfully close to the strategy 400/500 with a preamp does it not? Why would they stop production on a tube amp only to bring one back a few years later with all the same issues as the previous one?

This is fantastic news. I'm a huge fan of Mesa's lower-powered all-tube heads (I own both a D-180 and a Buster), and I look forward to trying out the 120W version. I'll be especially interested if the heads are case-mounted (like the Buster) rather than rack-mounted (D-180) - if so, the head + a new "traditional" 1x15 will knock the Walkabout Scout out of the top spot on my GAS list. :bassist:

yep. just talked to our Mesa rep and he gave me the skinny. The front end of the Strategy is from the M9 Carbine and if we know Boogie, the power of the "300" watt power section is gonna be insanely massive and not like other manufacturers' 300 watt power sections.

He didn't know what the front end of the Prodigy is going to be but I'd hazard a guess as to the front end from the M6

can not wait to hear these amps :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

Hmm, I suppose I'll have to wait and see - my ideal Boogie would be an all-tube amp with the D-180's tone in a Buster head's form factor - I'm not sure how to interpret the "bat cave" comment: Adam West or Christian Bale? (Please don't let it be Michael Keaton...)

as to casing, they're "solid metal chassis'" and not meant to be rackmounted or needed to be rackmounted like the 400+

apparently one comment on the Prodigy was that it looks like it belongs in the Bat Cave :bassist::bassist::bassist:
Agghhhhhhh, whyyyyy, Mesa? Why must they come out with something that's probably going to be so awesome when I have no money?!

From the description, it sounds like this is going to be soooo awesome. Switchable power? Preamp of the M6/M9? But there's no way I'll be able to afford it! :bawl:
