I have seen a lot of complaints about the demo on youtube. I thought it sounded like s**t, when I first heard it. When I got home I put and my headphones on, I played it over and over again..... listening through speakers doesn't do it justice as the headphones made a world of difference. Just remember the audio on you tube can be very compressed.
Oh man, just when I'm getting comfortable with the D800+ @agedhorse knocks it out of the park with this. Lots of D800's and pluses going on the used market including mine...
My only question is from looking at the manual, the parametric eq can only be bypassed with the footswitch and not on the amp?

I think that's the whole point about the WB's and this new version of it....... the fact that it emulates tube power tone so well.
Demo sounded fine to me thru my pc. 
But Ive got a Yamaha 7.1 home theater surround sound receiver with 5 speakers and a subwoofer hooked up to it.

I think the demo is good. I’m not interested in hearing one tone that sounds good throughout a demo (or even a couple) - we KNOW the amp will have tones that sound good - I’m interested in hearing all the knobs twisted and knowing which knobs are twisted - I.e. knowing the capabilities of the amp. I thought it did a great job of that. And that growl when the input is pushed....
This amp has all the features I could want. Everything. Walkabout tone with all the modern practice, recording, and gigging features I could hope for.
The first time I played a Walkabout evokes memories of the first time I saw a fat bottomed girl! Amazing and wonderful! Truly "WOW!" moments.
I love the Walkabout sound, but they were out of production when I finally got to play through one, and the ones I've been able to get a look at were either too beat up or too pricey. There's a nice one that's been on the market here in StL for months, but with a price of $1300 and none of the other features that I want that's just too much. I like the D-800+, but it didn't do that Walkabout tubey deliciousness that I fell in love with. And all that for a grand?!? Sold!!!
And, truthfully, much easier to explain to Mrs. Thumpenstein than a new fat bottomed girl.
Dang that head has everything except a spout that pours drinks. I've never seen EQ as comprehensive as that. mutiiband knobs AND parametric both ? I imagine Andy had a grin over that bit (Oh, they want flexible EQ, huh ?).

There's definitely a difference between emulation and the real thing.
Killer stuff. I'm in no hurry to sell my D-800+, since I've been extremely happy with it. Still, I'll have my eye on the reviews and sounds when these start hitting the market. Kudos to @agedhorse for being helpful, responsive, and receptive to comments/suggestions here - as always. Mesa continues to deliver my favorite amp & cab designs on the market. I've strayed once or twice over the years, but they've been the one I just can't quit.
As an 800+ user, I will say that the clean, articulate, punchy tones will have to beat out what I get from my 800+ if I'm going to upgrade, and I understand that's all about personal preference. I don't use tube-pre/drive sounds as always-on. So, while I would definitely be happy to have them available on the amp, I prefer being able to dial that on/off via pedalboard. Just making this point for folks who think they've made a mistake by going with the 800/800+ just before the WD was announced. Agedhorse is making it clear that this is not an 800++. So I don't know that the FOMO is justified in those cases. It's my opinion that if you bought something in the Subway Series, you made a good decision regardless of the particular model or cone-size.

I don’t have much experience with 12” cabs..I’ve been using 4x10 cabs or 2 x 15” cabs ...but that 2x12 cab looks awesome.
