NEW Mike Dirnt Signature models

Wow, hard to believe the roadworn feature raises the MSRP by 450 bucks! It does look cool. I have the standard Mike Dirnt Fender I just picked up at GC for 299.00 used. Black with white pick guard. I painted the guard a hammered bronze color from Walmart. Looks much better now.
This is a very nice bass, just so heavy!

By the way mine says Custom Shop 59 pickups are in it. Probably the same as the roadworn. I love them.

I dig the road worn;
but;
$1500?

I don't dig it that much...

just saw these.

I saw that as well, but maybe Amazon is just putting it out there to be the first. With $1499 MSRP, I'm thinking in the $1000-$1100 range with MF, etc. I'm fixing to build a Tele style bass for a Dark Star pup, and this is what I'm looking for. I just have to see what comes in less cost wise.

I hope your right! But as with the price increase with the '62 RI vs the 63 RI P, I bet the price has been inflated. $1100 is a lot of money, and I'm pretty sure I can build one for less (Warmoth body, MJT nitro finish, a road worn neck and tuners off EBay from a 50's P, etc). However, I like the Jazz width neck in maple, which I can't get with a normal road worn bass..

I hope MF and others list it soon so we can get an idea of real cost. They listed the Ampeg V4 RI a month ago or so (which still isn't available), so surely any day now these will pop up on the mass retailer websites

Regarding MSRP and street price: The Fender Road Worn 50s P has an MSRP of $1399 and streets at $899. So I gotta think this one will street at either $949 or $999.

Edit: The Road Worn Jazz is $1499 MSRP/$999 street.

Me too. They're not listed on MF yet, but I'm curious what the street price will be.. $1099? $1049?

Also curious about the 59 pickup. Any other bass have that pickup? Just curious how good it is. The BA2 bridge is a bonus..because I can sell it and make a few $ after I replace it with a 62RI.

If the pickup is the same as on the original MD, it will be good. The one I had was the hottest P pickup with plenty of punch and a good tone control circut too boot. It was a great bass but weighed close to 13lb and had to go as it was killing my shoulder

13lbs?
Good Grief!!!!!

Who is picking wood at Fender anymore?!?!?!?!
I'd like to try a new Jazz Deluxe, or, that new Modern Player J5 with the Roscoe Beck-ish pickups, but I can't find either under 11-ishlbs, which is just 2lbs too heavy. IMO.

Tried the VM Jazz 5 yesterday - actually only tried to lift it out of the hanger then stopped there. Sheesh.
