NEW Mike Dirnt Signature models

Ditto - like the look, dislike sigs like some folks dislike roadworns. Taint rational, jest natural.
None of his signature models have his name on them, you'd never know it was a signature unless you knew. The star graphic is all that's meant to give it away, which has been moved onto the neck plate and is really small. I wouldn't let it being a sig put you off.
The sig model doesn't bother me too much, although I won't be playing any Green Day with it. I'm glad there isn't a star or something on the 12th fret, kinda like the Sting sig model with his signature. That's a big turnoff for me.
I just love the white with maple look and black guard. I like the jazz width neck too, and that its nitro. I'd ditch the bridge, but that's my only issue. I really like it and am real anxious to see it hit the online retailers. If anyone spots it for sale other than the Amazon listing, let us know!

Don't really understand why the Fender model has a 1.59 nut width when the Squier has a 1.65... 
Don't get me wrong, I like more Jazz style necks, but (if I'm not mistaken) the older Dirnt models were a standard Precision width. Anyone know why they'd change that?
Also: if these are going street for $999+ you can count me out...you can buy an American Precision for that price, or (preferably) build your own from Warmoth. The new Dirnt looks great, but IMO a grand for a MIM Signature bass is too much.

The profile is listed as "Thick C" and several reviews of the older Dirnt models described the neck as thick/chunky.
The neck is definitely a chunk if its anything like the older model.
The street is going to be $1099.

The Squier is standard p bass probably because they dont want to reprogram the CNC for one model.

If it's not more than .85", it ain't chunky. I can totally get into the nut width though. Narrower nuts are more my style.
Interesting, I never knew that. Thanks for the info! I've never heard of a 1.59 nut width before...then again I've never played a Tele bass, and I'm hardly a bass connoisseur.
Makes sense what you said about the Squier too, I guess it would be rather silly to do that from a production standpoint.
Not a fan of Mike Dirnt by any stretch, but that blonde with maple is fabulous, wish it wasn't road worn though

I am interested to see if/how much bodies (WHITE!) will be parted out by Stratosphere. If these are light as many RWs, it is veeeeery tempting to go that route.
