What would get the effect in the intro of the O'Jays For The Love Of Money? So far all I have is the envelope filter and a compressor.
Thanks
My compressor doesn't add any noise in my chain and like I said, this evening I removed the chorus from the board and plugged straight into my amp with it. I've owned both a Micro Flanger and an Analog Chorus neither of which had the amount of noise that this pedal produced. Glad to hear that this doesn't seem to be common. I'd be hard pressed for that to be the case as I'm a major Dunlop/MXR/Way Huge supporter as you can see. I'll keep everyone posted.
Melvin, I am with you. I have access to a lot of pedals at my job. Like everyone else I started off with BOSS, which are still very good pedals. As of late, I have been enjoying the Dunlop/MXR/Way Huge line. Currently own the MXR, Phase 90, Carbon Copy, Compressor, Bass Fuzz, Bass Octave, Bass OD, Bass Chorus Deluxe. Way Huge Swollen Pickle and Green Rhino. Dunlop Volume pedal and Wah 105Q. I think a call to Dunlop is in order, maybe I can get them to send me that cool pedal board that they use for display on youtube![]()
This leaves two pedals: bass phaser, and tuner. Top it off with a bass wah that doesn't suck - think the Clyde Deluxe, only with a longer physical sweep, and...bassier - and I'd strongly consider chucking everything in for an MXR-exclusive board. It could be worse: I could be playing a 105Q again.

the mxr wylde phase works great on bass![]()
It probably does, but you'd have to live with the embarrassment of having a Zakk Wylde signature pedal. I couldn't live with that shame. Besides, effects manufacturers, in particular Jim Dunlop, the owner of MXR, have the practice of repackaging the same pedals for bass players, and then charging an additional $10, down to a science; why stop now?

I'm actually half-joking - under normal circumstances, such as the EVH Phase 90, I'd wholeheartedly agree with you, but I had a less than pleasant experience with the original Zakk Wylde overdrive, and I flat-out hated the Zakk wah, which swore me off of Wylde effects forever. But, if the phaser's any good on bass, I'd be willing to give it a go. Except that the script 90 w/LED IS good on bass, and I'm a damn fool for selling mine.
