New Pedal Day! Darkglass Vintage Microtubes

Hello everyone, my birthday was a few months ago and I've been traveling a lot, however a couple of my friends pooled some money together and after I got home surprised me with the Darkglass Vintage OD. Needless to say I was very surprised and thankful they would go to such lengths.

Anyway pretty stoked to show this thing off and as I already own the B7K I can say the drive provided by the Vintage is in pretty sharp contrast comparatively and I might even say I like it more, the Era knob allows for a lot of cool changes and tonality options.

All of my dealings with Darkglass have been great and I love both this pedal and the B7K. I'm looking forward to seeing what all I can do with this, I've only had it for a few days and scratched the surface.

I have to say, VMT is my favorite bass OD I've ever had. Definitely has a permanent spot on my board.

Question. do you loose Bottom end in MED OD?

No bottom end loss at all on any of the settings.

Thats good... I love the feel of the OCD.. responds like an amp.. But you loose lows as soon as you engage the pedal

Yeah, the VMT booms on the low end. It's the only OD pedal I've ever tried that truly felt like it was made for bass. It's not as touch-sensitive as a lot of ODs. It responds to your playing, but it doesn't immediately squash and compress just because you dig into the strings and hit the front end with extra signal gain, which I think is great.

Yeah I couldn't believe it when I saw it. Definitely the best guys I've ever known.

And about the pedal responding to your playing, I find that to be totally true. In the clip I have the drive at about 11 o clock and the blend around 9, a lot of the overdriven sound comes from picking hard. Sounds pretty fat if I'm using finger and the attack is great for slapping if the era is turned up.
