I intend no criticism here, but this thread is ostensibly about the Micro 7, not the Double Four ... we have gotten a bit derailed here.

I'll second that. Anyone?Anybody have a chance to play one yet?
Four months later and still no hands-on experience with this amp? I’m interested in it mainly for an under-bed bedroom practice amp that meets the wife approval factor (read: unseen), and at under 10” tall, this fits the bill perfectly (short bass combo amps are not an easy find). Yet I can’t find one available anywhere. Vaporware?
After searching for weeks I finally was able to audition the PJB Micro 7 last week as well as the Session 77, BG 75, BG-100, BG150, BG300, BG400, Briefcase BBC and Briefcase Ultimate BG-200. For my needs, the BG400 and Micro 7 sounded best. I purchased bothI didn't care much for the BG 75, BG100 or Session 77.
I think you will love the Micro 7. Has a nice beefy bottom considering its size and definitely more bottom than the Double 5 and the Blackstar.Good to hear. I ordered mine without an audition from GuitarCenter over the weekend to take advantage of a Memorial Day coupon. They don't expect to have any in stock for a couple more weeks. Honestly, as long as it makes a decent amount of noise it will serve my specific purpose of a hidden under-bed practice amp. It's the only thing I could find that would fit, aside from the PJB Double-5 (too expensive) and the Blackstar Fly Bass pair, which I bought and returned because I didn't like the fact there was no way to hook the two speakers together.
I don't think there is any such thing as Phil Jones "Double 5"; you must be thinking of the Double Four (BG-75). I happen to own one of those and it is great.
@Ricardo Rodriguez : could you elaborate a bit more on what the differences were from your point of view? And why BG400 and M7 sounded best to you? And can you recall your (subjective) differences between Double Four and M7?For my needs, the BG400 and Micro 7 sounded best. I purchased bothI didn't care much for the BG 75, BG100 or Session 77.

I am ready to pull the trigger on either Double Four or M7. It is really solely for living room use where my Hellborg stack is not accepted by my better halfThe smaller the better. And even though M7 comes at a nice price-point it - at least on online marketing material - looks somewhat 'cheap' with its part cloth covering. There is very little to find on the differences between the two otherwise.

I like my Double Four BG-75 a lot. Lightweight and sounds good (especially when against a wall).Would the BG-75 (4x2) be able to sound better than the M-7 (7x1)? Open to suggestions.
I disliked practicing with headphones until I got a halfway decent pair of studio headphones. Now, it's really kind of a joy, and my headphones really aren't even that good (I think I paid $25 for them). I don't know what you're using now, but $100 would buy you some pretty nice studio headphones. Sorry, I can't answer the question you actually askedI'm looking for the lowest volume, highest tonal quality for near-silent at home practice--after bedtime with a newborn and toddler--if that's possible. Otherwise, I have headphones, but wondering if something is possible.

Agreed. The Double 4 is the best sounding micro combo of all time. Some may disagree but those people are what I refer to as "wrong-headed".I like my Double Four BG-75 a lot. Lightweight and sounds good (especially when against a wall).
It's also quite handy for keyboards, guitar, even vocals in a pinch.Agreed. The Double 4 is the best sounding micro combo of all time. Some may disagree but those people are what I refer to as "wrong-headed".
