New Pickups for Ibanez SR800

Appreciate the response. I didn't phrase my question very well, can I keep the lo-z pups but run them completely passive? I guess bypass the pre-amp. Not sure if they need power or not.

I've got all passive Di'marzio Modal P/J pups in my SR950, which is basically the same bass as the SR800 but with an ash body, ebony fingerboared. Sounds absolutely killer! Just make sure to really lower the P pups compared to the J pup to get some nice balance. Oh and no battery needed!

Another vote for Dimarzios. I have them in my sr400. DON'T get Geezers. I put those in a gsr200 & hated them. I wound up selling it.

i believe some pick ups that are strictly active need a powered preamp for them to run, i know ive seen a response if anything someone would know here or a thread.
