new pickups installed, now the mix sucks..

so i just got my pups replaced in my fender jazz, and it seems like when each pickup is on by itself the volume is fine, however, when i blend the two it seems to cut out alot.. if anyone has any advice please let me know.

That is a fact of life of the parallel nature of pickups lowering inductance and somewhat of the comb filtering that occurs. I solved the problem by putting a .01 capacitor inline from the bridge pickup hot lead to the hot side of the bridge volume control. YMMV.

When my main bass was a Jazz bass in college, I always backed off one or the other volume controls to about 8 or so to alleviate this problem.
