Don't move just 1 adjuster, it'll displace the strings laterally.
The perpetuals are my favorite string on my Juzek out of spiros, evahs Zyex superflexible and helicore. I thought this would stop me from buying strings but turns out I just want to stock pile perpetuals now haha. I have found 3 sets of perpetuals WITH an extension E used less than a week (one brand new) for less than the price of one new set. The latest one taken off talkbass. I think it’s safe to say I’ll have these a while
Been using the perpetual for a couple months now and gotta say they sound great on my bass. Came from spiro3880 and those I love too but the perps hsve so much to offer
i did a bad thing:
tried a spiro extended E and it sounded very nice with the perpetuals. Solid fundamental and good tone. The sound of the perpetual E is nicer but the spiro adds something else to be desired. Also felt like the ADG got tighter with the spiro. Perp E went right back on but I can see a lot of people liking that setup. I may test it out with the next set.

When you say "bad", you mean "great". Right?
I prefer the Spiro Mittel E/C with my Perps.

If you have a semi older one lying around I can grab off ya shoot me a PM (mine was used and had a bunch of separations). I say bad because I try not to mix strings and was happy with ignorance. But I still like the perp E, just that the spiro E felt (pizz) like it was a complete set but with a little oomph at the bottom. arco was harder but that could be my individual string.
I really hope they come out with a heavy version of the perps, that may be the key.
continuing my review of perpetuals starting from the bottom...
The E played in well, proving versatile for jazz pizzicato and also pretty smooth and full for arco.
Clearer edge to the notes than Eudoxa which was previously on the bass, but a bit blander tone and not quite as deep lows. However thats splitting hairs. To be honest I was pleasantly surprised.
So I added the A string
Very similar results...
Bear in mind I have been using for some time all gut strings (lower ones metal wound and upper plain gut).
The tension of the Perpetual E and A feels a bit more tight than the Eudoxa and does tighten the feel of the plain gut D and G somewhat. Not a deal breaker though and more balanced than when I had tried Spiro E and A, and much better to bow.
At this point I thought it might be of interest to do some little recorded examples arco and pizz, in case anyone would like to hear how the A and E sound.
These are just played on the bottom 2 strings only, so as always, best to listen on headphones or proper speakers... please !
Hopefully you can take into account that I just tried some simple ways to illustrate the sound the Perpetuals are capable of on only the E and A strings. Nothing fancy!

Today i got a set of perps for my fiver. I put it on and left the bass in the rehearsal room. I will play ist on monday and see how it sounds.
I wrote these experiences to another thread but maybe I should add them here;
Selim had a good point as Perps being something like FlexDlx lights! Played them on a string orchestra rehearsal and I was surprised how easy and nice they were with bow! Clear and darkish at the same time but nothing of that arco harshness of Spiros (which I was waiting for based on few comments here).
But they also sounded lighter with less depth and power. So I went back for EPW which bow and sound great on my arco bass with a same tension.
I also had to play amplified jazz rehearsals with Perps on and while they were nice I missed the power, projection and touch of the Spiros which are on my jazz bass.
So I really think Perps are great hybrid strings on a right bass but I found them a bit lacking on my basses

I agree. After trying them twice and liking them twice — still, I sold the set.
I’m sure they are just the ticket for another bass, particularly a big bass that feels tight.
Old Spiro mitts + Polychromes is the “hybrid” set that has worked the best so far for this particular bass.

Got two rehearsals on the fiver with perps. E an B are very loose and spirocorish with the bow. ADG are ok at least. Playing them in for a while will help them to develope a better core (soundwise), i hope. At least on my other bass this was the case.
I think, they are in between FlexDeluxe and Spirocore in terms of pizz/arco usability. I regret they have less pressure than these two. My bass is a bit quiet now. Maybe I can learn to play louder when I got used to the loose feel.

That’s a good way to sum up how I found them on my bass.

I guess I was coming from the other direction as the E and A felt more tension than what I had on the bass. But I found the Arco response very good on my bass... I did a quick recording just to give an impression. Much better jazz pizzicato than Flex Deluxe.
Of course a lot of variables and also what we grow accustomed to changes our approach so we need to learn a little bit how to play different strings if they feel different

Curiosity put the Spirocore Reds back on. The bass has more clarity and volume. It is also more even. They probably have a year or two on them so that says something about how Spirocore durability.
Why? As much as I liken the Perps, I sensed that they were losing some response. Also, the bass is about a year and a half old and Spirocores sounded good on it on day one. It sounded new and I wanted to see how it was maturing.

Hang in there, I'm still with you...minus the G...my Oliv G is second to none.
