New PJ Mustang at Summer NAMM

I knew it felt different but didn't actually measure it until reading your post just now.
It's wider and also thicker than my Jag SS and MIJ Mustang.
Not by much - about .055" wider at the 14th fret, and about .050" thicker at the 12th.
Doesn't seem like it would amount to much, but it really fills the hand more.
Not really thick and chunky, but more substantial.

I wouldn't dare put flats on this thing. The E is far too boomy as it stands with bright rounds on it. Unless you aren't going to use the P pickup at all or you're playing Motown. Im probably returning mine anyways, the cons outweigh the pros for my needs.

I think D'addario Chromes or GHS Brite Flats would sound great on this bass.

I thought you would have returned it by now. I almost PM'd you the other day. Guitar Center had a P Junior for $399 earlier this week.
It was gone the next day though. Maybe someone from this forum got it.

If I lay into it heavy, it can get a little boomy on the lower E string notes with everything set flat on my amp - not past E, F, F# and G on the E string though.

That might just be poor technique on my part - IDK.

And a quick amp eq adjustment can clear that right up.

Did you ever think it might be the other way around?

Considering the number of people who love their sound (myself included) I think you are reading for bias confirmation.
