New PRS basses...anyone got one yet?

I own two PRS guitars and I'm quite curious about this project even if I believe that Mr. PRS is quite uninterested in the bass market.
I remember that, in the past, PRs made a bass but it didn't last long.

PRS had 2 forays into the bass market. Once in the mid-late 80's, and again around 2001. I don't know if PRS is uninterested. I think they just don't have a grasp on what is wanted in the market.
I've seen a couple of nice one, but most of them are all flash and meh on substance. Every time I think one looks interesting it's priced so far out of my range I lose interest.
I had a very plain early 2000's one for a while. White top two singles like a Jazz. Well made instrument just completely uninteresting. Looks like they are making more of a go of it this time. No reason they couldn't make a killer bass.

I believe they make excellent guitars..(even if a little high on price.)
But they look very nice,(even tho im not a fan of the shape not a huge and I've NEVER picked one up that wasnt very, very playable.
I'd love to try a bass.

I have three of their guitars and love 'em, the 5 string list is $4713 non ten top and $5575 for Ten Top with street
(if priced like guitars ) $2827 and $3344.
$862 list for a ten top seems kind of excessive though. The four string base price is $200 less. They are priced right in the middle of their product line. Hopefully some dealers will stock this version so they can be played. I've never even seen a PRS 5 string bass in the wild to check out in the past.

yeah bottom line as in any instrument is how it plays and sounds but from a visual perspective I find this is some pretty good bass porn :
Kevin Walker, Alex Al and Gary Grainger sure make them sound nice.

I hear you, one of the things for me aside from a tone report is the neck carve as I have hand issues, so thanks for any input and of course hopefully that would include some pics.

Down = Active, Up = Passive If this knob is up and Knob 2 is down only the neck pickup (passive) is heard
Knob 2: Bridge pickup volume.
Down = Active, Up = Passive
If this knob is up and Knob 1 is down only the bridge pickup (passive) is heard.
If both knob 1 and knob 2 are in the up position, both pickups (passive) are heard.
Knobs 3-5 are a 3-band EQ control:
Knob 3: Bass EQ. Functions with pickups in active mode.
Knob 4: Mid EQ. Functions with pickups in active mode.
Knob 5: Treble EQ. Functions with pickups in active mode.
The bass will function passively without batteries as well.

Vince, that's the original Private Stock version , the ones discussed here are the new basses added to the regular production model line.
Yes, I know. That's why I wrote "older ones" in my post and several people have mentioned their previous versions in this thread so it is not exclusively about the new ones.
