Double Bass New Remic Reshape mics

I'd love to, but alas I have a substantial investment in the pair of a Remic DB5400 and a Remic DB 5400LB. The advantage would only be that you can switch out the capsules with one
piece of foam. Since I've had mine for over 7 years and they have held up very well (minor warping of the foam mounts but nothing serious) I see no need to get the new ones.
The Remics are the best sounding, easiest mounting, un-mounting and repositioning DB microphones I've owned and that includes the AMT, DPA, ATM 35, and even the Nadine.
Just my take of course.

Is this because your Tyrolean has too high a bridge arch? I stuck a strip of fawn coloured adhesive felt under my bridge to ensure the Remic would fit snugly. The adhesive felt is intended as a non-scratch solution for the bottom of furniture feet.
Yep, the arch is too high. Never thought about felt, I figured that would obstruct the mic and affect the sound. Might try that.
That is a distinct advantage of the Remic Reshape mics. Since the new design allows the microphone to be removed and placed in different foam capsules that will fit different instrument

When I reached out to them about this I wish they would have hinted that something new was in the works. They said the mic was designed to fit under the tailpiece and the conversation just sort of stopped. They did ask why it no longer fit under the bridge so I sent them some pics, but never heard back. After that I built up a ribbon mic to mimic the Troll and it works great, in fact I used it last weekend with a quartet and we got pretty loud and I didn’t have any issues. I don’t think the Remic would have fared as well.
