New Rickenbacker Colors

I wish they would've released this before I bought my fireglo a few months ago... I already put a black pickguard on it and painted the truss rod cover black. Plan on swapping the chrome hardware for black at some point to.. this would've saved me a lot of time and money for a similar look. Not sure if I'm a fan of that fretboard though
Rickenbacker posted some nice looking basses last night.
Pink and a nice looking burst with all black hardware. Not sure what color burst that is considered.
What do you think? I'm digging both.

That fireglo looks a LOT like a 4002 I've seen somewhere or other.
Or a Pepto-Bismol logo. Hey, at least they're trying new things.

Is that an ebony board on the Fireglo??? THAT I like, although not so much on the Fireglo. I'd LOVE if they'd put an ebony board (like that one WITH the inlays) on a Jetglo. But on Fireglo, I prefer the (rosewood??) board they already use. And I don't care for the black trim on Fireglo.
I don't care for the pink. It's almost too dark of a pink for my tastes. If it were a more subtle pink, like Munji's Lakland, it would look better, IMO. But different strokes and all...

I'd love to see the pink one, with all black plastic and black hardware.
Wow, that pink one is sure something. Not for me, but I can imagine some players could pull it off. 
The pink is hideous, and the burst looks like it should cost about £200.
I love a good vintage Ric, but these just look wrong to me.
Instead of investing in bad colour choices, maybe they should start making some basis improvements - the bridge, etc. - first.

If the pink one had the black fret board they could call it "Good'n'PlentyGlo". The FireGlo with the black looks okay, but the checkerboard binding stands out too much against all that black, plus the finish on the bass pictured is a little darker than most and heavy on the red. That finish would good great with a pearly white, cream or plain white guard.
Are any of these production models, or just one-off's for high profile customers or Japanese collector's market? The Noir was produced in such limited numbers as to become instant Unobtanium, hard to get too worked about it one way or the other if these are just trial balloons or some kind of very limited Special Edition. I'd love to see the CB and sparkle FW inlays come back as a "deluxe" option, not holding my breath though.
The trim and hardware make the Fireglo look totally different. Pretty amazing. I can dig it.

This one below must be a limited run available in Japan, as it's being sold by a Japanese outlet on your favorite online auction site, and I've never seen one stateside.
Does Ric make limited runs for Japan only?

I lusted after Ricks throughout my teen years. I managed to buy my 73 4001 in 1976 and still gig it and love it. I am a Rick lover rather than hater, BUT...when all that they have to offer is a change of colour, it seems to me they've lost their way.
Funny how people say that all the time but nothing different except colors in Jazz or P basses is perfectly fine.
