I'm well aware, and was referencing that. They even had their designs registered as trademarks, equating them to logos. (Fender moved too late to do anything similar, and only have their headstocks protected, so Sadowsky are free to copy their hiney off.) So they have ample basis to sue right and left. However, good luck doing it in this case (unless RIC really did protect their 400X design down to the pickguard): it really looks like a "do it, I dare you" on Jackson's part, from the outside. And it's hilarious!

It's said that if you have broken headstock logo trussrod cover, they only way you can get a new one is to send the bad one in to RIC first

So Jackson had a 51 styled bass maybe last year, but the color choices were horrible...

This years style, and colors are better... not due in until April... but mine is on order.

We shall see how the pickups are, but for sure we are going vol/blend, or maybe spackle over the J-hole

Pretty naff to my eyes - if I wanted a Ricky I'd buy one. And I agree the headstock looks terrible against the trad design cues everywhere else.

Probably. Look at the Charvel’s. They have Fenders headstocks now.

I wanted to change my white pickguard and truss rod cover for black. I found a pickguard no problem, but a TRC?
What a pain! And I'd like to keep the white one in case I change my mind. I don't want to be constantly posting truss rod covers back and forth across the Atlantic, so... I bought a fake from China. Came with a white one too. And they're identical to my eye. Cost less than £5 for both - including postage.
Good luck to this seller, but I'm not paying this...
