I'm done with big cabs and big rigs!

Just got hooked up with this awesome setup from Jeff Genzler and I'm in tonal heaven!
Magellan 800 powering two Bass Array 112 cabs. Can carry a cab in each hand and produce some serious thump (and volume) along with a 3-dimensional full range sound that's hard to describe but so great to listen to.
Best sounding live rig I've come across that compromises absolutely nothing in exchange for the convenience of lightweight portability.

Needless to say, I'm stoked!

I've played bigger and heavier rigs that sound way smaller than this. I'll take small rig that sounds big any day

The BA115 is, indeed, mighty. I ran a 210 into the 115 but it just still felt like overkill. So I downsized. I also went from a Bergantino Forte to the Magellan amp and I'm very happy with the move.

Nice rig! How much do those cabs weigh? Do they have neos?

If I can jump in here, these Bass Array 12" cabs are just around 30 lbs each. They are Neo loaded and those are 4 x 3" full range speakers in front. No tweeters are used in this design.

The BA115 is, indeed, mighty. I ran a 210 into the 115 but it just still felt like overkill. So I downsized. I also went from a Bergantino Forte to the Magellan amp and I'm very happy with the move.

I have downsized as well. I had the 410-3 and 15-3 with Magellan head and I rarely crept over 9 o’clock on the master, it was massive overkill. I kept the 15-3 though, it is one of the best sounding 15” equipped cabinets I’ve ever experienced and it really brings the thunder.

Seeing as how you have hands on experience with the 15-3 and the 12-3, how do they compare? I am considering one to run with my 15-3.

If you read, he mentions being able to carry one cab in each hand, so yes, those are lightweight Neo cabs…

Being as how you have hands on experience with the 15-3 and the 12-3, how do they compare? I am considering one to run with my 15-3.

The 12" has a bit more mids and punch. I think you'd be very happy pairing a 12 with your 15. Genzler cabs defy the "don't mix your drivers" convention often seen here on TB (and, honestly something I used to subscribe to adamantly). Mix away. They all sound amazing.

That's what's so cool about them!
I've never liked tweeters. But always liked a defined and crisp top end... Enter the Bass Array. Problem solved.
Plus, really this isn't a 2x12 setup. It's 2x12" x 8x3"

Love mine!!! Having run a vertical 4x10 configuration for 20 years, the Bass Arrays are the best evolutionary step for such rig setups. And the modularity of them is brilliant.

It sure does. I had a set of 10s but wanted some more flexibility in the low end out of my five and six-stringers. The BA12s accomplish this mission perfectly.
