I've got basically the same rig, the Neo410 and an old school GK800RB. They're both built like a tank and sound good.

I prefer Sam Adams and Fireball, but not on my amp.

When I was in a house band at an open mic I supplied the bass rig. I can't tell you how many beer bottles I took off my rig, hundreds. I even put a note on it "any drinks left on this amp will be discarded". The note would be covered with beer bottle rings.

I'm fairly certain that that no surface on earth holds as much appeal for the placement of beverages as a bass amp. Set your amp down in a modestly busy bar as you prepare to set up and some joker will set a bottle or pint on it before you can take your coat off. If I wasn't a staunch rationalist I'd say dark forces were afoot.

I bounce around beers. My taste buds change alot. We practice in the top of a 3 flat. I let another band use my old rig regularly but I am on the fence about letting them gig this one out

You're in Chicago? Just a suggestion, but consider losing the Rock and stage a half-crushed can of Old Style instead. It'll add to the authenticity.
