New Rush thread

I saw them in Saratoga Springs and it was an awesome show. I'm really happy Geddy brought the Rick out for Bangkok.

I've listened to the new album very much and I think it's their best since counterparts. It has a strong connected vibe throughout the album that I haven't felt about them in their last 2 albums. Armour & Sword is probably the best song on the album, along with the Main Monkey Business.

...I'll be interested in how I feel about this album after it has some time to settle in my head. But right now I can honestly say it has just got me floored....

Well it's been over 6 months since I posted my review, and to follow up on the above comment:

For me, the album has stood the test of time. I listened a lot for the first few weeks, and then drifted away from it. I probably would have burned out on it if I hadn't, so that's good.

Consequently I've had long periods (> 1 month) where I didn't hear any of the tunes, and for most of this time the album's tunes were simply among those I shuffle through on iTunes, so there were good odds I'd hear at most one tune every three or four days.

I had a craving for the album and started listening to it in the car recently. I'm impressed that I feel very much like I did back in May. The only difference is that "Good News First" is now my least favorite, and I still like that one; it's just relative.

I hope they keep it going!

Talk soon,
HooBass
