New Spector singlecut bass! Opinions?

I've never been a fan of singlecuts. I like the Telecaster and Les Paul shapes, and that's about as close as I get.
Looks like it's ready for a pile of shrimp, krill and squid. Should be harpooned.

i'm not into it either. i've seen a few of the single cuts that appealed to me, but not this one. however, if it plays nice and sounds great, who cares?
So it's an NS2 with goitre?
As most have said, single cut's in concept are a great idea in terms of delivering increased sustain and rigidity to the instrument from neck to body, but I agree that it should be designed as a single cut primarily and not as a tacked-on afterthought, even if it's only for the sake of aesthetics (Elrick, Adamovic). But then spector aren't the only ones guilty of this.. yes ksb and sukop I'm looking at you

I have seen a few SC basses that have not bothered me, aesthetically.

Same here. IMO the NS body style is fantastic, this one, not so much.
I'm generally not a singlecut bass fan. The only examples of singlecut basses that I might think of buying have been built by Skjold and Cliff Bordwell. The Sadowsky is kind of cool too IMO.

6 string, birdseye maple fretboard, darker color stain and lose the gold hardware and keep it around $899 and I'm in.
Ugly, the Sadowsky as well. The only single cut I find good looking is a Fodera... but, whatever, to each their own.
I don't mind a good singlecut. But this thing just looks odd. The weird camel hump at the top of the single cut side is unnecessary. I think the best looking affordable single cut on the market now in the ibanez srsc805. AND it has wider spacing than a typical sr. might be picking one up.
