New Sting Pickguard! Whaddya think?

I just replaced my old white Sting pickguard with this black pearloid; I was going to get the white pearloid, as I'd seen a fellow TBer use, but thought I'd take a walk on the wild side. I like it, but my wife says it looks weird (she always says that). What does the TBers' collectively impeccable taste say?

Personally I think it looks much better than the usual white one. I guess I'm in the minority that likes it.

However I do agree with those who said a Tort guard would look very good on there.

I think I have found my modding route...different bridge, no pickguard and a thumb rest.
Can't wait to get my Sting!
