How? Where? I need on of these!

I didn't know that...that's pretty cool. Do you know if they do it for tuners that they already have a stock model for (eg the BT2 fits the late '60s - early '70s Fender tuners, but it's not the same plate or key shape)?Yes, Hipshot Drop-D machine/mechanism - been around for quite some time. They sell them using various style tuners but you can send them your specific E tuner and they will convert it into a drop-D.
Do You know what xtender model is on Your Ray Special? Do they started producing new one for Ray Special or modified something for You? ThanksBig thanks to Jason and Josh at HIPSHOT...
Just what the doctor ordered - DROP D on the new Sting Ray Special...
Perfect!

I’ve messaged hip shot but haven’t received a reply yet. It seems that their B13 model will fit the new stingrays but they have a different key head. They seem just screwed on on the music man. Haven’t been able to find a picture of the extender to see if it’s screwed on the same but you might be able to swap the key heads out. At least that’s what I’m gonna try.Do You know what xtender model is on Your Ray Special? Do they started producing new one for Ray Special or modified something for You? Thanks

That is taaaastyI did gold/silver mix using 2 sets of Goth tuners and Oscar at Hipshot honored my request to mix them on the drop-D unit. Talk about customer service!

Email I got from Oscar this morning.
There's a couple of options you can go with: you can either buy a BT13 (not from us, we are out of stock) and swap the Y key for with your clover key, or you can send your tuner in to convert into a detuner for $85.
Big thanks to Jason and Josh at HIPSHOT...

I have Hipshot Detuners on two basses - an American Elite P and an older Stingray (pre-special). Neither can rest safely on my Hercules wall hangers unless I put them on backwards (i.e. with the front facing the wall). I hated that look. My solution was to install String Swings - which allow more space for the lever and larger tuner to not be resting on the actual hanger. I have to leave the Detuner in its Drop D setting otherwise the lever rests on the hanger.View attachment 4638051
when this is in the E position, with the lever up, you reckon the bass can still hang properly on a Hercules wall hanger ?
