Looks of the new Flea bass gets my vote but execution of it does not. Fender used a longer neck in a standard pocket moving the bridge forward to compensate. This will push the reach out making it feel like a 35" scale. Fender's Custom Shop Custom Classics basses had the same issue. It may not bother some but it did bother me.

StingRay, all day. MusicMan is on a hot roll right now, building the best axes they've ever built, and are very capable.

On a purely personal note, I'm not paying five bucks for a PeptoBismol-colored Jazz Bass body with a MM pickup and a matching pink peghead.

I own the Stingray Special and I’ve owned more Fenders than I care to count. The Stingray Special is the finest instrument I’ve ever owned and it’s not close.

As said above. EBMM is killing it these days. Fender just isn't building anything currently that competes with EBMM on quality.

I think Fender stopped being a cool brand in the mid '60s. I've owned a couple of them because they were inexpensive and I liked them for the price, but I'd never pay a premium for one.
