I played a Stingray special for the first time today and it's a very nice bass. I had two Stingrays in the past, a Classic and a Ball Family Reserve HH and the new one is easily the best of the three. I have not played the new Flea bass but on paper it does not look like anything particularly special. The previous Fender Flee model was OK too but it did not move me like the new Stingray. I think the pole result speak for itself.

I love my stingray 4h special but I kinda like the look of that Fender. Never played one though. As far as quality control and fender, although mine aren’t high end fenders I feel I have been pretty lucky as far as quality. I do have a few friends with some real nice high end junk. Always play before you buy but I can tell you I would feel way more comfortable buying a SS special online.

That green with the roasted maple fretboard and neck is just shagging sexy

As an owner, I can confirm the charging green is even more stunning in real life.

I'm not sure if the comparison is fair. The Fender sells for 1.7k while the syingray goes for about 2.5k.

Given the price difference I'd go with the Fender. It looks to be a nice bass and I like the Aguilar electronics. Don't get me wrong the Stingray looks beautiful but at these prices we are approaching Invalid Link Removed.
