New Walnut Project bass.

I think almost anyone can build a solid body, and just bolt a neck they like to it. I have minimal tools (a lot less than Steve Wishnevsky, lol) but still manage to amuse myself with these projects.

My build process, you don't wanna see. I see build process threads by JohnK10 and the like, everything is so neat and precise and orderly. My "in progress" pics would look a lot more like this: FrankenBass on the Bench.jpg

I like everything, thin Ibby neck, Ric styling, minimalist P-type single pup with central location (the reason sex is so popular), the output jack in the handy right place and beefed up. The white control knobs look good and so would walnut knobs. Swap them out weekly. And that walnut is fine looking. I just bought a walnut Hadean f-hole uke base in pretty satin finish so I love walnut's figuring and grain. You may be an amature luthier with few tools but you have the eye and the artistry. It's a home run. Need sound or video clips though.

Pretty cool looking overall, although that pickguard material is pretty gaudy, tbh, and doesn't really jive with the walnut. I would have definitely gone with black, or even just plain white. Or maybe parchment.

I built myself something during the pandemic. Had some real nice figured walnut in the basement, bought an Ibanez neck off the 'Bay., and had a lot of time off my usual schedule to put this together. Also had to try the new Billy Sheehan View attachment 4140189 DiMarzio "Relentless" chrome P-bass pickups, although I "reversed" them. The inspiration from the two famous Santa Ana, CA bass manufacturers is obvious, lol!
Well done!
I love the flow of the body shape - aggressive and elegant all at the same time.

Fantastic aesthetics and craftsmanship. Can you approximate the tone to a ballpark of something we may have heard?

How do you like the Relentless Billy Sheehan Pickups? How was looking for them to try something different with my vintera Precison.
