New Yamaha BB series

Ok, analysing his current custom BB...it would be a BB734a in red with only one pu. And because it already has all features of the 734a (including the "new" neck construction, the electronics..) it would realy just be another color and one pu.
Can't be a 2k thing..

Well..ok... but then it won't be like his last custom bass... it would be a reissue of his "historic" BB... I doubt that Yamaha will do neck throughs BBs after the invention of the 6 screws bolt neck...
But you'll never know..

And...why should someone (like Peter) order a new custom bass like the red one (when he gets whatever he wants) to then switch to a neck through? He could have ordered one in the 1 place...?
But you never....you know... :p

I think it is easy to give a bass a different finish, but even for Mr. Hook they wouldn't build a new neck through bass as a single custom instrument. Would be too expensive. They don't have a production line for this kind of bass. Just guessing...

Although I know (!) that you can't judge any bass by watching youtube, I started to "compare" the 734 to other more expensive ones and combined with my testings in the shop... I must say it is a very very well sounding machine!
