New Zoom B3 has arrived!!!!

Anyone do an intentional or occasional comparison of the effects in Apple Mainstage, GarageBand or Logic?
I'm sitting on the fence with the thought of using my Mac as the effects source or one of these B3's. Obvious advantages of low complications or points of failure on the Zoom.

I just bought my B3 last week - I sold my ADA MB-1 in favor of this thing.
So far, it's amazing. I just learned how to lower the master level; I was a little freaked out when there was a HUGE gain boost, even when bypassed. It was clipping like crazy, too.
+1 on a gig bag for this thing. It is needed!
The housing is plastic, but the frame in which the circuitry is mounted appears to be metal (the bottom is). The plastic is durable, though. Not that cheap-feeling stuff that ZOOM effects of old were made of.
Now, it appears that the B3 has rendered my Eventide Pitchfactor obsolete. Unreal.

Frankly... well I order the B3 to Supersede my B2. If the B5 comes out I don't think I'll be going out to buy it. After all I only really use an Auto Wah, and the Octaver as "Effects" that I turn on and off in a song. And some times a Phaser or Synth.
I'm old fashioned and my Base sound comes from my Amp not my modeler..
So with the B5 you'd get and extra stomp pedal, and an expression, which I NEVER use! and the price difference isn't worth it!
I am sure there are users who, like yourself, only plan to use these things for effects. I am one who runs direct, and uses IEMs to hear myself. My whole band is on them, except the GTR player, who does run direct, but relies on a "steam powered" wedge. Given that, having one slot taken up for the basic tone makes a B5 look a tad more appealing. Currently using a Pod X3 live, and fairly happy with it.
I had that with the Ibanez PEUB5B but the effects were crap!
I geuss you can turn them off manually..

The octaver on this is Worse, yes Worse than the B2!!!!!
Gracious God! It arrived today I'm going to sending it back tomorrow!
The Synths are better but I hardly use them!
I'm going back to individual pedals, or sticking to the B2!

I love mine, it does everything I need and more. It helped me find my ideal tone, and has all the effects I use with an easy interface. Still learning, but I love it so far.
The only thing is, I wish I could find a carrying gig bag for it.

Subjective listening. Someone who has never listened to an Eventide thinks any pedal with octaver being a good one. Someone who could do A/B testing could think different. Hence *you really need to test things yourself* than rely on opinions.
Plus some are so happy to own a device so they praise it just for that reason.
And for some, it does what they need well enough. Granted, I don't use mine for an octaver, I have a dedicated one of those.
I was quoting a member on the other thread, he has both the pitchfactor and the B3. And likes the B3 so much he's likely going to sell the eventide.
I think it's just about how musicians perceive gear.
I was one of the first here saying the pitch effects were the worst thing on the B3. Though, to someone they are good enough, even compared to a pitchfactor.
Speaking of pitch tracking. Some play very sloppily, on the lowest notes and complain the octave is crap. Others play on higher strings, carefully and think the octave tracking is really good....
Sure, pitch tracking is what tricks people the most on every digital or analog device.
I just think tracking is good enough on the B3 (even on most of its synth sounds). What I don't like of its octaver and pitch shifters is the sound actually. They sound quite cheap.

I'm finding the MonoSynth and Z-Synth have better tracking than the other synth effects within the B3.
Was spending time with one of the most bizarre effects of the B3, the Bomber. If it had a hand clap or drum tigger pattern it could actually be useful.
