Newbie from Ontario Canada!

Good day!

Little background… I've been playing guitar for 30 something years and fell into a rut about 2 years ago with it. I was never a great with practice and would end up noodling the old pentatonic scale. Jammed with a few guys here and there over the years, but nothing serious. I'd had a couple basses over the years but never put much time into it because I had too much money invested in guitars. Last November, my wife and her family went to a Beatles tribute and there on stage was a lovely Rick 4003 in fireglo. Well from there the hunt began for a new bass! I traded a guitar for a 77 Ibanez Rick copy (neck through) and started putting some actual time into learning and I was hooked! I’m absolutely loving the bass and having touch a guitar since November! I wish I would have been more serious about it years ago, but better late then never! I back to taking lessons and playing around an hour a day. Just traded away a couple more guitars and picked up a new stingray that should be arriving today or tomorrow. Can’t wait!

Welcome! It's never too late to realize that bass is the way. That Ibanez looks especially sweet, very clean and even has a Hipshot bridge upgrade, it appears? Anyway, I grew up not far from you, in Buffalo, and there's just no better way to spend those long cold winters. Especially if you find yourself an old tube combo to cook and glow next to a comfy chair in your living room. I do miss that, but definitely not scraping snow off the windshield before work. Somehow I ended up on the other extreme... unfortunately there's no cold-generating amps for the Florida Summers!
