Newer player

Hello all,

I'm a newer bass player, been playing guitar for about 25 years and decided i wanted a bass to play around with. Just pre order a squier affinity jaguar h bass in metallic orange. Hope to learn some from you guys!

Welcome aboard @PopPunkRocker15. We were all newer players at one point, so you are in good company.
You'll find all kinds of great info from casual and pro players around the forums, some folks have been playing for a lifetime. Many questions have already been asked, so it is always good to search before starting a new thread to save yourself some time.

My 2 cents. Try to learn how to play a bass like a bass player and not a guitar player playing bass.
Bass can be a very different vibe from playing guitar. String muting and attention to plucking technique leads to cleaner playing. Get in vibe and don’t overplay until you know what to play. Learn basic music theory so you know how to get from one chord to another so your playing just doesn’t sound like a bunch of memorized patterns.
