Yup, agreed, thats the only way I would even consider buying one of these. Its the cheek of it that really gets to me though!

Yeah, Australia is just as bad... A micro synth is about $1000 here
.. and the bass model (which has two different resistors and one different cap) is usually more expensive than the guitar model.
I'd put money on it being worse in NZ! I've heard that often the B stock guitars from certain companies will get shipped to Australia, then the B stock of that lot gets shipped here. Still gets sold at absurd prices though.

I guess it's hard to be taken seriously when all you export is sheep jokes and hobbits.
Seriously though, shipping would make things much more expensive in Australia and NZ. If the pedal is being made *in* Australia, there is no reason that I can see why it would be cheaper anywhere else.

i used to live 10 minutes away from several oil refineries yet paid more per gallon than the national average because i live in CA. as the first run of a hot new product they have every right to recoup their money. wouldnt want them to go out of production- what with the current ebay price of other decommissioned bass synths.
that said somebody buy one so i can see if the double price makes it twice as cool as the BMS.

The pricing discussion has little to do with Chunk recouping their money, and much more to do with UK purchasers being (possibly) gouged by their local dealer and / or government (VAT etc).
I'm actually kinda happy that the release date has been pushed back again. This way I'll have a bit more time to sort out my money; or lack of it, more to the point.
That's why I don't get it how italian made MARKABSS is cheaper in the Us than in Europe... guess the Europeans have to finance all the US marketing campaign

Does this mean it's released? It still says on the Godlyke site that it's not out til late August. It's been stated before but the price has gone up too. The blurb on the TB home page still says that it's $599.
