Next Benavente SCD6 progress thread

That looks sweet, Jai! And Beav certainly is a good photoshopper...the bass looks almost playable right there!

If things go the way I think they will, holding true to past form, I will probably get to ATL next fall. I'll actually be going to Macon, but that is only an hour and a half from ATL.

Hopefully if it is done by NAMM, you'll get a chance to play it... it's funny that I have played 2 of your basses, before you had them in your hands :smug: . Are you thinking about going to NAMM this next January?

So here (again) is what I'm anticipating the bass to look like (minus the inlay and the concentric Volume kn0bs):

Looks incredible!! I am definitely planning on being at NAMM, if you're there it would be great to meet you, and if you're not I'd be happy to play your new bass to give it the stamp of approval, I think it's my turn to play one of your basses before you get it!! :D

So it's official, just spoke to Brian this afternoon, here is what we spec'd out:
-6 String Benavente SCD Set-neck bass
-Koa top
-Mahogany Body
-34 inch Scale
-Wenge and Maple 5 pc neck
-Gaboon Ebony fingerboard, w/Jairaj inlay at 12th fret
-side dots only
-Black Hipshot Ultralight Tuners and A-style Bridge
-All Passive (Dual-Concentric Volume knobs: Vv.Vv.Tone)
-Quad Slim pickup setup (4 p/ups all together, Volume for each)

Just my opinion, but I think Chris Benavente has THE best looking single-cut design out there. :bassist:
I absolutley agree.

cool, we'll have to hang.
The koa is hot Raj! I think this will be a great bass. One thing which could be cool is koa blocks? Might as well take advantage of Chris' talents.
I'm thinking at the 12th fret, having my name inlayed into a koa block.

I'm hoping to go to NAMM next January, hopefully we'll both get a chance to play it there, if it is done in time.

Dude...for real. Go green...you know you want to. but hey im biased.:D
I gotta agree^... Koa looks great n'all, but that green is the bee's knees!!
It was a strong 2nd, but koa is just too sexy...

Still got room for another pup in between the other two- would give you another option...std pups, or Jairaj Sig-style...it's an idea, anyway...:D

yeah I see what you mean... but, if I change or modify my order one more time, Brian would take the 3.5 hour ride down to ATL and.... let's just say it wouldn't pretty.
