What a win for Philly and story for Jake Elliott. Drafted by the Bengals, didn't make the roster. Signed by the Eagles when Sturgis goes down and nails a 61 yarder to win his second career game. Longest FG in Philadelphia history and longest by a rookie ever.

In a league that devalues RB's that is a questionable choice if true. The RB contracts are based on YPC and durability. He isn't getting any YPC holding back and his durability ( or indeed ability to play 16 games regardless of situation ) has been a knock against him his entire career. I think maybe he needs to stop reading fantasy articles about how valuable he is and check in with the real world.

Hunt is far and away the OROTY front runner. The kid has been a revelation and a bargain of a 3rd round pick. Fun kid to watch.
For sure. Had the game ended differently, it might've been "Bonehead Play of the Year". He's VERY fortunate that the Bears won that game. Otherwise, his showboating could have resulted in the Bears starting out 0-3. As it is, they still got the W. But had they lost, it would have been very difficult for his teammates NOT to think he cost them the game.
I was watching it, and when he started slowing down to showboat, I thought, "Whoa!! They're gonna' catch him!" He almost went into the "Leon Lett Club"...
It's probably not true as I don't know much about the NFL anymore.
However, this is the same NFL that overpays for mediocrity and hype.
Bell's going to get paid next year. I just hope the Steelers aren't the ones dumb enough to do it.

There have been a number of weird calls in the NFL already this year. So, everything is normal. The Seahawks are finally going to pay for paying aging guys on defense and skimping on the offensive line. Linemen generally have a longer shelf life than skill guys, with the exception of quarterbacks. I realize that's a huge generalization, but when you think about cornerbacks, safeties, running backs, and tight ends, the high speed pounding takes a toll. Linebackers don't last all that long, either. A good lineman can last 10+ productive years, and so can a good quarterback. The occasional wide receiver who is good at avoiding collisions can last a long time, too. So, the Seahawks pay a lot for high-speed collision guys who are probably nearing the ends of their careers. I like Sherman, for a lot of reasons, even if he's not always the best behaved guy on the field. But, I think he's getting a little long in the tooth and won't be around much longer. His personality won't let him retire on top, so we are going to see a painful decline from him. It's a shame, really, but that's how it's going to be. We may already be seeing signs of if.
I'm sick of hearing from players during post game pressers saying, "That dropped pass, that was on me,", "That interception, it's on me."
Hell yeah it was on you. Who the else would be responsible for dropping a pass or throwing an interception? You're not falling on your sword. It's meaningless. How about saying, "I will never let it happen again," and mean it!
