NFL 2019 Week #3

I don't know that I'm excited. That word, and all derivatives of it "excite, excited, exciting" haven't applied to a Tennessee team in quite awhile :)

I'm interested.

In the same way I'm interested in what's for supper tonight.

Knowing is nice, but it's going to happen either way so no need to get worked up :D

It would be funny if it wasn't so possible in the 2019 NFL season.

The Jags are so deep on defense. Bury that fool on the bench and ride his contract. At some point teams have to stop this player pandering. This isn't the NBA.

What I'm about to say makes me want to break out in hives, given that Ramsey is a cocky loudmouth from FSU. But I (mostly) understand his frustration. The Jags' management has made one bad decision after another since that 2017 AFC championship game. They threw $54 million at Bortles hoping he would suddenly be good, and now they're eating a bunch of that salary because they released him. Then they overpaid for Foles, who wasn't getting huge offers. Meanwhile, they dumped some of their best defenders and have extended hardly any of the remaining top guys.
Also, given what I've read about Marrone over time, I bet it's VERY easy to get in an argument with that guy.:D

Either Ramsey's next contract is leaning towards cap busting or the Jags are asking a boatload in a trading scenario. He would fit in with the Eagles with Ron Darby on the other side but Howie Roseman isn't one to jump on something without doing his due diligence. A first rounder from the Eagles will be around picking in the late twenties or early thirties.
I hate seeing my team going into Atlanta and Miami, those strippers are undefeated:cool:

I don't understand why Pittsburgh did it. Granted, Fitzpatrick is very good, but they just lost Ben for the season hours earlier (right?). Miami could still end up with a high first round pick out of this.

Pittsburgh isn't going anywhere this season, but I doubt they'll be bad enough to get a top five or even top ten pick.
If that's the case, then getting their first round draft pick next year now is a solid move. No question marks about Fitzpatrick. They wouldn't be able to draft a guy like him in the first round next year.
If they do end up terrible, then this trade may look bad for the Steelers.
Regardless, the Steelers just lost their starting FS, Sean Davis, for at least eight weeks, so this was a position of need.

I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about this one. Ben's out for the season. They're ALREADY 0-2. This is shaking out to be one of their worst seasons in many, many years. They could be looking at a draft pick in the top 5 next year.

Yes, Fitzpatrick is good; and yes, the Steelers can always use a top corner. But I've heard that Fitzpatrick would rather play safety than corner, and the Steelers need him more on the corner. So after what could very well be a horrible season, they won't reap much of a draft benefit. No first round pick and no third round pick (because of their trading up for Devin Bush).

I wonder what kind of package the Steelers could get for Tomlin and (D.C.) Butler??! :D

EDIT: Mike, I just saw your post after I posted mine. I wasn't aware of them losing Sean Davis.

I know, ain't it great?!?! hahaha Oy, the Flaming Tacks and the Tarps rivalry. It's kinda a pillow fight really :) Oh well.

Steelers already went all in on this season. They also have a history of working with backup QBs.
