He did, but he lost more playoff games than he won.
A couple times he marched into the playoffs after a great regular season only to go one and done.
After watching him on Hard Knocks, it's no wonder he isn't a coach anymore.

If you Zapruder the replays it seems worse than it is. Clowney's decision to dive at Wentz is made essentially simultaneously with Wentz getting tripped (note, getting tripped not diving and giving himself up). And his helmet position was basically the only way it could be when diving to make a tackle. So Wentz is a runner and Clowney goes in to make a tackle, and at the same millisecond Wentz gets tripped. It sucks but it's hardly intentional.

If you want to know if it was a dirty hit, look at the players around. Only one player made a few half hearted gestures asking for a flag and quickly stopped. If this was some dirty, Clay Matthews head hunting type hit then the people on the field would've had an issue with it.

Yes indeed, all the games were worth watching... and the announcers didn't have to go to 'blow-out' mode talking about what happens next game, next season, is Tom Brady GOAT, etc.
We have family members rooting for Philly, but it you can't score a touchdown, you really don't deserve to win.
I have a Chiefs tee-shirt that I picked up in a yard sale and a Bears sweatshirt my Mother In Law gave me.. both are probably 20 years old.
So if I can remember to wear my Chiefs tee next weekend, then I'll be rooting for them.

The Browns need a QB like... Tim Couch! No, Colt McCoy. Wait, Jeff Garcia's the one! No, it's Brady Quinn! Kizer for sure. I bet on Charlie Frye. How 'bout one of the McCown boys - does it even matter which one?

I know this is out of order. But I was just listing a few, off the top of my head. I bet I could list 20 QBs from the last 20 years, with Charlie Frye and Charlie Whitehurst both on the list, and few people outside of Ohio could tell me which were the Browns QBs and which were not. Mostly, the QBs on the carousel are not (were not) the problem. The carousel is the problem. I'm not saying a less-dysfunctional organization could have won with any of those QBs, no sir. But better-run outfits don't chase their tails like that, either.

I don't know if he's going to be OK in the long run or not. He's a bit of a hot-head now, but he apparently works in a way that the last guy they drafted couldn't be bothered to do. What is clear is that continuing chaos will guarantee that they will also continue to be a joke.

You aren't a fan of Pete Carroll, as I recall, but I can imaging a coach like him giving Mayfield enough slack to be himself, but also being able to rein him in when necessary. There's personalities, and then there's problems. Carroll seems to be able to deal with personalities without letting them turn into problems. When those personalities become problematic, the people attached to them are gone, but gone quietly and somehow without long term rancor.

I have no idea if he’ll be a good coach. But just looking at the his record is missing the point a bit. He took over 1 a program that was consistently winning 2-3 games and turned them into one consistently in double digits 2 a program on the verge of being dismantled because the players couldn’t stop raping women and made them respectable.

If you’re looking for someone with a track record of bringing stability and a culture change to a failing and troubled team he has the credentials for that.


Saleh gets a lot of sideline shots but he’s been DC of some horrible defenses. How many high first round picks do they have at pass rusher? And a HoF corner? And a very good offense that leaves them rested and in the lead? I dunno, “He had one year of success with a super stacked roster” seems a worse resume than the college dude.


I think the Giants stealing Bellicheck’s ST coordinator is a huge get. Their STs have been great for years, and guys like BB and Harbaugh show how well people with that background can do.

Mayfield played pretty well under Gregg Williams, and massively regressed under Kitchens. Considering old Freddie encouraged his team to get into fights during the pre season joint practices, defended wearing a shirt blaming the Steelers QB for getting tomahawked with his own helmet etc I’d say the lack of discipline and regression on the team as a whole is squarely at his doorstep.

I don't think Rhule is s bad coach, but it's a bit premature in my opinion.
It was a great turnaround at Temple, but it's Temple. He also bailed on Temple before their bowl game.
Baylor is a bit more respectable, and he did rack up some big wins, but he also lost when it mattered most to win.
I have nothing against the guy or the Panthers (well ok, a little animosity toward Scam Newton), so I hope it works out.

I too like the Judge hire. A sneaky move.

The Raiders are still doing pretty good, right? My random predictions:

AFC: Baltimore Ravens

NFC: Vikings (Green Bay I like; 9ers I don't trust.)

As great as getting rid of Khalil Mack and sinking our hopes into Antonio Brown worked out (can you imagine Carr to Brown!?!?!), I think the LV Raiders are going to keep spending on O Line and QB.
