Not to mention, they're named the Browns and their main color and helmets are orange.
Was just talking about silly team names this morning and trying to guess where they got the ideas and what drugs they were on.
The Browns made #2, after the Bills.
Now, I loved football as a kid and was a huge fan during the Kelly/Superbowls era. And now that they finally have a good team again after 30 yrs, I've been watching the games again. Actually, watching football in general again. Also, the Bills are my hometown team.
That said,.....they have THE undisputed, most idiotic name in football. Possibly sports.
I've always thought that and never got used to saying it without thinking it was stupid.
First, there haven't been bison in western NY in over 200 yrs. Second, the city/area was originally called a French word that meant beautiful river (forget the word) that sounded vaguely like Buffalo. So, nothing about the city has anything to do with actual bison, so the bison on the helmet is stupid. Also, the team was named after "Buffalo" Bill Cody,....a bison hunter.
So, your emblem is a bison, but you're named after a guy who killed bison?
And why isn't there a "Bill" on the helmet?
The answer is that there are no answers. The whole thing is one layer of nonsense after another.
So yeah, the whole "Browns" thing is kinda silly, but the Bills might have it beat.
