There's now one yearly college game in Dublin, I think next year is Navy vs Notre Dame, and it's been hugely popular.
I doubt Ireland has the players or facilities to host a team, but it'd be interesting to see...
As for names...Irish Wolfhounds, London Bulldogs, Berlin Dobermen, Paris Poodles, Roman Wolves, The Scots Highland Coos, The Welsh Rabbits...

Apparently, the games that have already been played across the pond have been a big hit. I wonder who gets to be in charge of handling logistics.

How the article describes it, the traveling would not be as bad as one would think. They would do their US games as a long road trip and when US teams have to play the European division, it would also be done in one fell swoop. That could work. The player pool might get stretched a bit thin, especially at QB, but hey, money is money, whether it's Dollars, Pounds or Euros.

This is one reason I prefer college football. So many more games you can watch, including the ones you actually care about outside of your area, without ponying up for super premium access.

Classic example of this right now. The Dolphins game is on Fox--somewhere. Here in the Raleigh, NC area, they're showing bowling instead. Thanks NFL!

Aaron is going out like Ben, too late. Both should have stepped away a year or two before they eventually did, or in Aaron's case do.
If Tom's not careful, it's going to end that way for him too. Tom has been beating Pittsburgh like a drum for years. What the heck man.

And with 3/4 of the defense 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stringers. No Watt. No Fitzpatrick. None of their top 3 corners and 1 starting safety out. Leal had also been playing decent on the D-line, and he was out as well. NO reasonable betting man would have taken the Steelers today. They still suck, but it was nice to see them beat a Brady team for once...

This season is going to turn into a nightmare for me. They'll finish 8-8 or 9-7 and all the Tomlin apologists will line the streets of downtown Pittsburgh proclaiming Tomlin to be the greatest coach to stand on the sidelines of an NFL stadium.
I'll ask again, when is it ever ok to be happy with 'we're not losers' in Pittsburgh? Oh, I know. In 2007 when Tomlin took the job.

I totally agree with the assessment. What happened to his famous line, "The standard is the standard"? The "standard" in Pittsburgh since the '70s has been winning. Not breaking even. And let's not forget that the Lombardi he DID win was with Cowher's roster.

I disagree however, on your 8-8 or 9-7 prediction. They'll still be middle-of-the-pack, but not quite low enough to get a top draft pick.
